Volterra Museums
• A WorldWeb.com Travel Guide to Museums in Volterra, PI, Tuscany.
The Guarnacci, located in the hilltop village of Volterra (approximately 35 minutes from Pisa), was founded in 1761, making it one of the first public museums in Europe. A large collection of Etruscan urns, ceramics and sculptures are on display. Of particular interest are the funerary urns, many of which are highly decorated with images relating to ancient life in Volterra. The museum is open daily.
